While you were busy the other night, there was an AGM. The following things were discussed:
Financial report
The club will need to raise funds to cover the cost of priority work within the club house whilst building up sufficient reserves to cover any major repair work that may become necessary in the future.
House matters
There are several fairly major works to be undertaken on the club house in the near future including an overhaul of the electrics, the hot water system and the extrernal fabric. The courts will also undergo their usual maintenance before the start of the next season.
Membership
The club was reported as having 100 adult members plus 22 families. This is a reduction on the levels from the previous year.
Court booking
A proposal was outlined for implementing an internet court booking system. The proposal was accepted and the Committee will work towards putting this in place in timke for the next season.
Subscription levels and court booking fees
Following considerable discussion, it was decided to keep the annual subscription at the current level whilst raising the court booking fees. The court booking fees have remained unchained for at least 15 years. It is expected that the fee for a peak time court will rise to £3 and the fee for an off-peak court will rise to £2.
Captain's report
The captain reported on the success of the various teams as far as it was known. The possibility of raising a second team or a vets' team was discussed and options will be considered.
Other business
Christine Redmond was voted in as a Life Member of the club. Christine has been a member for many years and whilst no longer playing, has acted as treasurer for the last 2 years.
