League rules

  • It is the responsibility of every player to arrange his games with the opponents in his league within the time allowed.
  • Any player who fails to play at least one match in a league will be automatically excluded from the next league, unless they indicate clearly their availability to play.
  • Any player who fails to play at least one match in two consecutive leagues will be removed from the leagues and will only be allowed to re-enter at the discretion of the League Secretary.
  • A player who feels they will be unable to play any games in a particular league should withdraw from that league.
  • Players who withdraw from a league or mark themselves as unable to play will be dropped from the leagues unless they indicate clearly their readiness to re-enter the. Lack of clarity may result in a player being removed from the leagues.

Matches should be played best of five games in order to maintain a consistent scoring system throughout the leagues

Other than that, you can choose whatever scoring system you like (Point-A-Rally or Hand-in) to whatever score you fancy (9, 11, 15 or 18.5)

Matches are scored in games and so that is the key point. Just be aware that you are likely to benefit from finishing the match in the time you have

If games are unplayed because of failure to arrange a court for whatever reason then both players will be penalized and neither will receive any points.

If a player cancels an arranged match for whatever reason they should make every effort to re-arrange the match. If the match can not be re-arranged then the player canceling will forfeit all the points and their opponent can claim 5 points for the match.

If a player fails to turn up for a match within 10 minutes of the agreed time and without prior warning he will forfeit all the points for a match and their opponent can claim 7 points for the match.

If a match is unfinished due to lack of time then the players have the option to re-arrange or to score the match from the grid above on the basis of the games completed.

If a player is not able to finish a match due to injury or any other reason then if the match can not be re-arranged it will be awarded to their opponent. The loser will receive 2 points plus 1 point for each game won and the winner will receive 2 points plus 1 point for each game won and one point for each unplayed game.

If a player withdraws from a league by removing their name from the box, the remaining players will be credited with a 5 - 0 walkover. If a player has already played the withdrawn player and scored better than this then their score will be retained.
