Frequently asked questions

Winter leagues will comprise of 5 players with games to be played by the end of the calendar month. Summer leagues will comprise of 6 players with games to be played within a period of about 6 weeks.

In general the top 2 players in a league gain promotion whilst the bottom 2 players are relegated. Between leagues 1 and 3 players are promoted and relegated by a single league. Below league 3 the top player is promoted 2 leagues and the second player by 1 league whilst the bottom player is relegated by 2 leagues.

You can join the leagues by notifying the League Secretary in one of the following ways:

  • Use the online form on the website by following this link:
  • Add your name and contact details on the list on the noticeboard on the balcony of the club
  • Contact the League Secretary by email: email the League Secretary


  • Please supply your name contact details and an indication of where you would like to enter the leagues. We do not guarantee the actual league that you will start in but will use this as a guide. It does not have to be precise (eg "League 4 to 5" or "bottom third").

You can retire from the current league by clicking on the link below and filling in the form (you need to be logged into the website). You can also indicate whether you intend to play in the next league. Alternatively, you can contact the League Secretary.

Please note: it is not possible to rejoin the current league once you have withdrawn

You can record the results of your league matches by clicking on the link below to go to the leagues. You will need to login to the system. Click on the name of your opponent and fill in the form to enter the match score in games.

Alternatively, you can write the points score in the appropriate boxes on the sheets on the noticeboard.Please take care to enter the correct score in the correct boxes. Any mistakes may lead to no points being recorded.
